Instructions for submitting an abstract

Abstracts, in English only, can be submitted online until 3 April 2009 (midnight, GMT+1). Abstracts must be submitted on or before the closing date. Please note that late submissions will not be considered.

The author must submit a summary of the work (max. 100 words) and a full description (max. 400 words) which should include the approach, relevance, innovation, results and conclusions. The abstract should be entered in a plain text format (no tables, graphs, charts or images).

It is possible to submit more than one abstract. However, only one presenting author per paper is permitted.

The person submitting the abstract (as given in the Contact person section on the form) must accept full responsibility for submission of the abstract. The person named as Presenting author on the form must accept full responsibility for the presentation of the abstract.

By submitting an abstract at Offshore Wind 2009, authors are assumed to give consent and authorise the organisers to publish or submit for the publication the abstract and full presentation paper, and to include them in any conference publications.

Abstract review process and notification of acceptance

The Programme Committee will review all abstracts submitted on time, within the specified format. The organisers reserve the right to reject any abstract for failure to comply with submission guidelines abovementioned, linked from this page, or communicated via the organisers.

All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their submission by e-mail beginning of June 2009. Further details will then be sent by the end of June 2009 giving the time, session and place of accepted presentations.

Accepted abstracts will be presented in plenary, parallel or poster sessions and will be published in the online conference programme and after the conference in the proceedings. All accepted presenters will be requested to write and submit a full paper by 16 September 2009 for publication in the online conference proceedings (further information and guidelines will follow closer to the conference).

Registration of presenting authors

A registration fee is associated with all Offshore Wind events and submitting an abstract for presentation at Offshore Wind 2009 does not constitute registration for the conference.

All accepted presenters (oral and poster presentations) are required to register and pay the registration fee (for at least one day) in order to attend the event. Registration will be open in March 2009 and the same account details can be used for registration.

Accomodation and transportation are the responsibility of the presenter.

All authors accepted for presentation must register for the conference before the end of July 2009 in order to confirm their presentation. Failure to do this could result in losing your presentation slot.

Obligatory poster printing service

As a poster presenter at Offshore Wind 2009, we ask you to use our complimentary poster printing and mounting service. This service is free of charge and is obligatory, in order to ensure a consistent level of quality and to simplify logistics for all poster presenters.

Approximately two months before the conference, you will receive a personalised web link where you will be able to upload your poster. The printing and mounting of all posters will be handled by the conference secretariat.

Please note that it is not permitted to bring your own printed poster.
